Code of Conduct

Golden State Aquatic is committed to providing a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all its members. This code of conduct outlines the expectations for athletes, parents, and coaches so we can uphold respect, integrity, and excellence.

General Principles

  • All members will show respect for one another, coaches, officials, volunteers, and facility staff at all times.
  • Harassment, bullying, intimidation, and any form of verbal, physical, or emotional abuse will not be tolerated.
  • All members will represent Golden State Aquatic with pride and sportsmanship at practices, competitions, and team-related events.
  • Members are expected to uphold the rules and regulations of USA Swimming and Pacific Swimming.

Athlete Conduct

  • Attend practices and meets punctually and prepared to train.
  • Listen to and respect your coaches.
  • Encourage and support teammates with sportsmanship and maturity.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Take care of team and facility equipment.
  • Refrain from inappropriate language or unsportsmanlike behavior.

Parent And Guardian Conduct

  • Support your child and the team in a positive manner.
  • Respect coaches' decisions and communicate at appropriate times.
  • Volunteer time to support team events and activities.
  • Address conflicts or concerns constructively through the proper channels.
  • Do not interfere with coaching during practices or meets.

Coach Conduct

  • Act as a positive role model for all athletes.
  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of every swimmer.
  • Provide fair, constructive, and consistent instruction.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with athletes and parents.
  • Adhere to all USA Swimming coaching requirements and certifications, including Safe Sport training.
